“Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right.” — Henry Ford
There’s deep truth in Henry Ford’s words. Our thoughts shape our direction. Our mindset determines how we use the one resource we can never replenish — time. If we believe our moments matter, we’ll approach them with purpose and presence. We’ll see divine opportunities in what others dismiss as interruptions. We’ll listen to understand instead of just waiting to respond. We’ll slow down long enough to look someone in the eyes and remind them they matter. But if we don’t — if we drift through our days assuming we have all the time in the world — we risk missing the sacred moments God has already placed before us. So today, slow down. See the person in front of you. Speak with kindness. Listen with intention. Because one day, the moments we take for granted will become the memories we can’t relive.
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” What lies within us — the heart, the Spirit, the quiet place where conviction and compassion are born — is where purpose begins. The world around us may rush forward, but within us, God is forming something eternal.
So don’t just count your minutes — make your minutes count. Live fully in the moment you’re given. Let your heart stay awake to the sacred opportunities hidden in the ordinary. Because what lies within you is what God will use to change what’s around you.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
