One day, I’ll be gone. So will you. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s true. We will leave this present world, and we will die. I’ve always thought it weird to completely ignore something inevitable. Now, so more bad news. Unless you’re Abraham Lincoln or Neil Armstrong, people will probably all but forget you after a generation or two. You probably could have gone all day without hearing such “encouraging” words.
So what are you going to do about such a stark reality? Continuing ignoring the unavoidable? May I provide a solution for you to consider?
First, make absolutely sure you have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” in John 14:6. Trust Him for your future because there is more to life than this world. There is heaven. Jesus put it this way, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am“ in John 14:3.
Secondly, choose to make your life about investing in the things that will outlive you. Consider “pouring” your time, energy, and focus into knowing God better, serving others, doing acts of kindness, enjoying fellowship with other believers, and telling others about Jesus Christ. In other words, actively living out your faith in daily life; essentially dedicating yourself to deepening your relationship with God and following His teachings to positively impact the world around you. That’s good news, not bad news.
