Personal evaluation – We need it

Posted in

Personal evaluation is the exercise that helps you grow and move forward in life. It’s often difficult to do because it requires a rigorous and revealing look into your life — the good, the bad, and the ugly.  It is so important for a variety of reasons, but primarily because it provides YOU with evidence for where you are in your journey and where you are going. To put it succinctly, if you don’t know where you’re at, you’ll never be able to chart a course on where God wants you to be. Here’s another way of expressing the same thought: If you don’t dare to be honest with the “WHAT IS”, you’ll never get to the “WHAT SHOULD BE.”

Here’s the “short list” of benefits:

1. You’ll find clarity in the direction of your life.

2. You’ll be better equipped to make wise, informed choices instead of guesses.

3. Reveals What You Need to Learn

4. Fewer Regrets – Honest reflection reduces repeated mistakes.

5. Improves Your Service to Others

6. Infuses Hope and Renewal

Stay tuned. Next week (hopefully), I’ll provide a link to a series of personal evaluation questions that will help you in your journey.
