Leadership and Loyalty

Are you like me? Probably not, but one of my habits, is looking for life lessons in everyday things. Like the lessons on leadership, I have learned from my dog, Jackson. One thing I observe in him…I’m guessing you see it in your pet, is fierce loyalty. Regardless of the immediate circumstances (maybe I forgot to feed him or I got busy and failed to give him much attention), he remains extremely faithful.  No matter what the day brings, the good times and the bad times, the loyalty of a dog rarely wavers.

Did you know that this is a remarkable leadership trait? Success in business, home, or life isn’t easy. There will be ups and downs, wins and losses, and streaks of success and failure. Because of this, you and I need to be with people you know you can count on in the middle of these circumstances. I have found that trust is priceless. Are looking to upgrade your leadership skills? Consider asking questions like…”I’m I loyal?”…”I’m a person others can count on?” “When others run away from struggling people, do I run to them?” Proverbs 17:17 reminds us, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”
