Do you wonder if God can use you?

Many of you have seen a list of all the unlikely people God used throughout history. A short sampling might include Moses. He killed an Egyptian and struggled with public speaking, yet God used him to lead the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt. How about David? Despite committing adultery with Bathsheba and arranging the murder of her husband, Uriah, he was called “a man after God’s own heart” and was in the lineage of Jesus. Then there’s Peter. He denied Jesus three times but was later restored and played a significant role in the early church. Even Rahab could be included in your list.  A prostitute in Jericho, she hid the Israelite spies, and her faithfulness saved her and her family when the city was destroyed. She is listed in the lineage of Jesus.

The point is obvious. God delights in using broken, hurting, “less than” people to accomplish his purposes. I was just wondering today, is that you? Do you feel that God could never use you? You’re thinking, “I’m too damaged and broken!” Today, remember the words of God to Moses as He called him to a monumental task.   The LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?  “Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.” Exodus 4:11-12 He made you just the way you are in order to accomplish His work in this world. Go get ‘em!!!
