Do you know what “Dad-Mode” is? You probably do. It’s a protective instinct that surfaces even in the most gentle of parents. It kicks in when one of their kids is threatened or is in danger. All I can say is, “Don’t get in between a father and child when a parent is in ‘Dad-Mode.’” You won’t survive!😀
If this is generally true within many families, don’t you wish it were true within the family of God, the church? Where someone…maybe everyone has your back? Unfortunately, many times when there is danger or a threat to the body of Christ, people tend to be silent or, worse, run away. There is something refreshing when we observe someone “running into a difficult situation” for the sake of believers. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” He did not say “peacekeepers.” You’ve got to get involved to be a “peacemaker.” The weight of the Scriptures is clear.
Psalm 82:3-4 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
Proverbs 2:8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
